Huntington Beach looks so different

We went to Huntington Beach today. It definetely isn't the same as the Huntington Beach in California but it's still pretty cool. I couldn't believe Lake Erie was frozen! I felt like I was looking at the Artic. My eyes started playing tricks on me because I swore I saw penguins (yes, I know there are no penguins in the Artic). They turned out to be seagulls.

The sun came out for a while today. It was really exciting. I tried to keep my face in it as long as possible. The dogs found a sunny spot by the window and watched the squirrels. They seem to be adusting pretty well.

I found Mexican Food!

I had an awesome dinner at Agave Tequileria & Cocina in Crocker Park. The food was so great I almost cried. I didn't take a picture of the Tortilla Soup, which was incredible, but I did take one of the Chile Rellenos and the Empanada Manzana. I will totally be going there again.

St. Louis Gateway Arch

I'm making some progress on finishing up the travel videos. Here's Day 6. I'd like to warn anyone who wants to go up to the top of the Arch - DO NOT GO IF YOU ARE CLAUSTROPHOBIC! To get up to the top you have to travel in these little capsules that hold 5 people sitting on top of each other. Then, when you get to the top, it sways in the wind! You can see the panic in my face when you watch the video.

Lucky for me I am not Claustrophobic, but it still made me a bit nervous.

Flooding In Missouri

Here's the video from Day 5. It gives you an idea of how crazy the flooding was.

Ladies and Gentlemen, We Have Internet!

After sitting on hold with Time Warner for an hour and being transferred to a Middle Eastern Country...WE HAVE INTERNET! Yes! A big thank you to Derrick for buying an Apple AirPort (lets me connect to the internet anywhere in the house) so I can connect with my family and not feel as homesick. I'm looking forward to being able to make more frequent posts and finish uploading the videos from the trip.

Technical Difficulties

Don't think I have forgotten you. We made it to Ohio and my internet connection here is lame. As soon as I can access the internet with my computer again (instead of using my phone) there will be more pictures and videos. Hopefully it will take no longer than a week.

I'm also trying to figure out why no one can leave comments. Bare with me!

I love Missouri!

Day 3 - NM to OK

We didn't do a lot of video taping on Day 3 but we took lots of pictures! Here's my little video clip featuring the great state of Texas.

Sedona to Albuquerque

After some technical difficulties, here's the lastest video from our trip. We've been really lucky with the weather. Yesterday was all clear, sunny skies. Hopefully we'll be able to go to Pocahontas, Arkansas today, I have to check for road closures due to flooding. Wish us luck!

Sedona to Oklahoma City

The past two days have been really busy! We've done a lot of driving and seen some really beautiful scenery. It's kinda late (we drove through another time zone today) so I'll post more details later. Until then, here's two of my favorite pictures from the trip so far; Oak Creek Canyon, Arizona and Cadillac Ranch, Texas.

Day 1 - CA to AZ

Today was the first day of our cross country trip. The weather was crazy! It went from cloudy to sunny to cloudy to raining to sunny to snowing. Due to the weather we weren't able to take Route 66 like we wanted to but after watching the local Arizona news we were glad we listened to my dad and took the 10. Here's a fun video of my first experience seeing it snow.

Hail In California!

Here's a short video showing the hail we had yesterday and poor Stitch whining because he didn't like the ice.
